How It Works
How it works
1
Fill out a no-obligation EquiSol Interest Form. If you are a renter, you do not need your landlord’s permission to fill out the interest form!
2
Qualification & Property Survey: Our team will work with you to confirm eligibility. If eligible, you’ll commit with a non-binding letter of intent, and we will survey your property to assess that it is suitable for the solar installation.
3
Lease with Property Owner: If your location qualifies for a solar installation, we will execute a roof or property lease. If your property does not qualify for an installation, eligible applicants will be guided through the community-shared solar option.
4
Construction & Monthly Savings: The EquiSol team will design, permit, and submit your location to qualify for tax incentives under the Inflation Reduction Act. With approvals in hand, our team will build and install the solar system at no cost to you. After the installation is complete, income-eligible customers will receive monthly savings.
How it’s no cost
By applying incentives from the federal Inflation Reduction Act and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and by selling some of the power to a local organization, we can offer significant financial benefits:
- Low-income applicants (and applicants with low-income tenants) will not have to pay for solar installation, maintenance, or operation.
- We can maximize incentives and offer a good deal to moderate income applicants in underserved neighborhoods.
The Benefits
Participants would benefit from this program once the solar system is operational by receiving monthly savings, either in the form of credits on their utility bill or a cash equivalent.
