About the Project

Project Background 

This program was made possible through the Inflation Reduction Act, in which tax credits were offered for clean energy projects, especially for those that benefit low-income households or are located in low-income census tracts. As a non-profit organization, we qualified to receive these tax credits in the form of a direct payment, which could be applied to projects we want to develop. Thus, we used our status to apply for 10 projects located in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, East Boston, Dorchester, and Mattapan specifically, in partnership with our collaborators. Although the tax credits are set to expire by the end of 2025, our applications were approved. Through Resonant Energy, we established our connection with the property owners, East Boston CDC, Boston Neighborhood Land Trust, and a private landlord, and we are 

Participants would benefit from this program once the solar system is operational by receiving monthly savings, either in the form of credits on their utility bill or a cash equivalent.
